Paying for a student's education at colleges, universitities, and technical/trade schools is often a concern for many families. There are many options available to help students pay for their postsecondary education which include scholarships, grants, and loans. Spoto has several events and resources available for those interested in getting more information on how to finance a student's education.

Free Events
  • Financial Aid Night - The School District of Hillsborough County hosts several free Financial Aid Nights at high schools around the county. Some of the topics covered include: types of financial aid, the application process, and problems commonly faced. The information discussed is extremely valuable for families. Registration is not required to attend. Please click here for this year's Financial Aid Nights.
  • NACAC College Fair - The National Association for College Admission Counseling hosts FREE College Fairs around the country for students and parents. Over the past few years, College Fairs have been held in Orlando (fall) and Tampa (spring). These are excellent events. Over 150 colleges and universities from around the country are typically in attendance. Additionally, there will be several breakout sessions where varying postsecondary topics like financial aid will be covered.

  • Pasos al Futuro - These are wonderful events where the information is presented in Spanish. Some of the topics include: graduation requirements, financial aid, scholaships, college information, and more. Please click here for this year's Pasos al Futuro events.

  • Scholarship Bulletin Board - We understand that not all families prefer to get scholarship information online. As a result, scholarship information is also available on the scholarship bulletin board located in the Guidance Office lobby.
  • Scholarship Search Websites - Below are some of the top websites for students and parents to search for scholarships. There isn't an age limit to search for scholarships; however, some scholarships may only be available to students who meet certain criteria.
